"Jenska's path leads to more emotional songs"---- Fans of the alt-rock scene who frequented places such as DiPiazza's and Blue Cafe in Long Beach, the Viper Room and Martini Lounge in Los Angeles and the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano may remember Jenska Ryyppa from her days as the lead singer in Telecast, which had a run of popularity from 1997 to 2002. Her days in rock have morphed into something more cerebral and ethereal. As blessed as she is with a large voice, the songs on "The Great Wall," all written by her, are more in the style of Sarah McLachlan, Beth Orton and Dido. "The songs are more emotional, more mature, more true to myself," Jenska (pronounced YEN-ska) said. "Now I have something to say. I'm not a 19-year-old with attitude. Experience and time has taught me lessons and it's reflected in my music.......
