"Women's Voices: Kota Benefit at Salmagundi on Sept 18!" The Finland Center has embarked on the Kota Project, the mission of which is: To equalize the social, political and economic standing of women and men globally by providing the physical and virtual spaces, tools, and services required by non profits working on women’s empowerment. As we are about to embark on a major fundraising campaign, we would like to make the Kota Project known as widely as possible and do it in a fun way, by celebrating Women's Voices! This is a benefit for Kota at the Salmagundi Club (bar and Lower Gallery) on Sept 18, 7-10pm, with MANY pop/jazz performers/ singer/songwriters - kind of Open Mike - each performing for 20 minutes max Tickets will be $20 at the door ($15 in advance, $10 in advance for members) and proceeds go to the Kota Project.
February 17th, 7-9pm Rockin' Out for Farm Animals IV is our 4th installment of the series to help raise awareness for Farm Sanctuary and animals abused in our current food chain system. All proceeds are donated to www.farmsanctuary.org
The 2010 Walk for Farm Animals is an annual event that helps spread the word about the treatment of animals on factory farms and raises vital funds for rescue, education and advocacy work via Farm Sancutary.
