Bio
Jeff Pailer is a singer/songwriter whose songs strike a balance between voice and form. Singing in clubs in the Baltimore/Washington area for a couple decades has morphed itself into voice infused writing. From the guitar driven to the piano inspired he's diggin' deep to find a vibe somewhere between the head and heart. Here you'll find new tunes as well as a batch of eighties recordings from bands, rehearsals, and demos. He's working hard in his humble home studio getting it all out the door. Enjoy.
About

It all started at age one when I was "Rockin' the Jamar" toy piano while my sister Joni danced to the infectious beat of my Stockhousen tone clusters! Elvis watched from atop the TV still looking good while probably in pain. Then, while in retirement from my living room concert, I proceeded to live an average suburban life, playing with friends and unknowingly being influenced by the music of my Parents and sister. I remember the singers Johnny Mathais, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horn sounding out around the house. Another and larger wave of sound came from my sisters 45's with many songs like "Build Me Up Buttercup", "Just Walk Away Rene", "Insense Pepermints"...cool songs. Then came guitar lessons as a young teen followed by high school rock and jam bands. As a young adult the duo of guitar and keyboards was formed called "Partners", playing covers around the Baltimore/Washington area for about 15 years. While making a living with voice and guitar I had earned a music degree at the University of Maryland in contemporary music and finished a program of studies in Indian Music and Sitar at the Academy of Indian Music and Fine Arts. During that time I was also fortunate to have had some great private instruction with teachers like Alice Stringer (voice), Hamid Ustad Hossain (Sitar/Tabla), and Bruce Casteel (Classical Guitar). Another big influence, of course, has been the many records from so many great artists of all all genres that have been burned into my musical psyc. Nothing charges you up like hearing great music of any type, from anybody, live or recorded. So wrap all that up into an aspiring Singer/Songwriter and hopefully you'll have something worth listening to! Jeff
