In a world where the labeling of music is as gray as the hair on former President Bill Clinton, some songs stand out with a blatant message and focus. Jeff Jackson is one of the artists bringing those type of songs. A Youth Minister of 10 years, Jeff puts his heart, passion, service, and experiences of life, love, and faith into his lyrics and melodies. ""My Hideaway" is an outstanding lyric! In fact, “My Hideaway” won Runner-Up honors in a National Song of the Year competition out of Nashville, as well as the song “Rescue Me” being nominated as a Finalist for a National Nashville Lyric Competition.
Jeff has been playing music and leading worship in various churches for almost 12 years now. Some artists have music that can cross all borders between Christian and secular, but Jeff is one of those artists that is blatant and purposeful in his songs; he wants to share who Christ is and cries out to his Father. “My songs are written through my experiences, through my pain, through my love and loss, and through my desire to share a lament or a joy with people so they know that they are not alone. I want them to feel that someone else knows what their going through, that Christ will be with them through it all.” Not only can audiences of all ages find a song or two that speaks to them lyrically, but the unique and catchy guitar style that Jeff shares is truly his trademark. Currently based out of Northwest Iowa, you can usually find Jeff playing in a coffee shop, concert hall, gym, festival, or outside at a park. Sometimes he is alone; sometimes he is playing with his band-mates from “Reflected Glory”, or a local praise band.
The coming release of his album “My Hideaway” is a sigh of “it's about time!” from several of Jeff's fans and family. “It has been two years in the making, but “My Hideaway” is the best album I have ever made. These are my best songs, coming from the biggest events of my life to date. I am sure there will be more to come as I am still young and God has only begun to use me.”
