A purple starry night of delicious music: the themes here are surprising, engaging, exotic, sophisticated and left of the dial. Hindugrass: exotic melodies and rhythms with Indian sarod, strings and percussion. Unique classical/bluegrass/Indian fusion. Prypyat: rich, absorbing melodies floating over rhythmic fingerpicking and cello. A little sun-shiney, a little moon-lighty, nostalgic, quirky, with a hint of darkness, Prypyat will make you feel like you've been swept up by a cloud and dropped off into some enchanted night-meadow. March is going to get kicked off with a really amazing group of acoustic musicians playing a wide variety of styles and instruments. The good folks at Billsborough in Hillsborough, NC have invited us all to come down and fill the evening air with music. Harp guitars and cigar box guitars, meet whistles and bodhran, while styles as varied as Blues, Celtic, Jazz, Old Timey and good old rock and roll are played.
