James currently lives in Texas just outside of Austin - the capital city. He has won numerous international and american music awards during his career. His music career started as a compromise to his mother persistent desire to see him play in the church orchestra. After about a year of her persistence he decided to play the clarinet to make his mom happy. His choice of the clarinet was not because of the love for the instrument but it's size.
