Jason Anderson & Mara Flynn The Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden is pleased to announce that Granite State singer-songwriter Jason Anderson will be performing, in concert, at the Moffatt-Ladd Warehouse on Saturday November 1, 2014, at 7:00PM. For the past ten years, Jason Anderson has been electrifying audiences in seemingly every American small town, to say nothing of globe-trotting performances from Iceland to Serbia and points between. Honest, raw, and soulful, Anderson can bring to mind fellow raspy belters like Glen Hansard and Ray LaMontagne; what sets him apart, however, is his heart-on-the-sleeve energy and charisma in concert. Like something of a basement Bruce Springsteen, Jason's "give it everything you've got" passion has made him a one-of-a-kind sensation just about everywhere. The consummate journeyman, concerts in his native New Hampshire have become less and less common; Anderson was last seen in town in July, performing at NBA champ (and fellow Merrimack County son) Matt Bonner's Sneakers and Speakers event at the Red Hook Brewery. The intimate nature--and tremendous natural acoustics--of the upcoming Moffatt-Ladd performance makes Jason's return to his native soil something to be excited about. South Berwick, Maine's Mara Flynn is a natural storyteller. Gracefully documenting moments of love, loss, and the strength of community that binds them together, Flynn's music can conjure laughter and tears, often within the time it takes to get from verse to chorus. Simply put, these songs feel lived in--small, carefully observed portraits of experiences both wistful and joyful. Not merely a wordsmith, it's Mara's stunning voice that draws the listener in, by equal turns conversational, coy, and cathartic. It usually takes just one song to fall in love with Mara Flynn and her music. Thankfully, on November 1, the audience at Moffatt-Ladd's Warehouse will get a whole setlist's worth.
