About

“The idea that a straight line is the quickest distance between two points may be true, but if the journey is as important as the destination then the curves in the road tell as much of the story as the finish line.”
At 26 years of age, Jared Crump has been writing for more than a decade but feels as though he's just turning the page on his career. The release of his “Shot in the Dark” in 2006 was a major turning point for the burgeoning singer/songwriter. Recorded at Spaceway Studios in Dallas, Texas, Jared employed the talent of Will Hunt (Shane and Shane, NeedToBreathe, Bethany Dillon, Derek Webb) to produce a five song collection. “It was great to finally get the sound I'd been hunting for and now I'm excited to see what will come next!” Jared is currently gearing up to record a full length album this Fall with acoustic aficionado Bryan Simpson of Cadillac Sky.
While many of today's artist pigeonhole their sound into one genre, Jared Crump's influences are gathered from a melting pot of artists down through the ages. Drawing from the likes of classic rock & roll such as the Allman Brothers Band to bluegrass and gospel music has helped to mold him into the musician he is today.. Jared feels that his music needs to not only inspire others but be a mirror as well. “Of all my musical heroes in the past, when I listened to their records you could tell that they believed it, they really believed in what they were singing about. It's really a motivator for me to be 100% genuine every time I'm writing or performing.”
In a world where music is one of the few things left that can communicate depth and meaning across the gamut yet still be entertaining, the honest lyrics and groove based melodies of Jared Crump will make your body move and engage your mind all at the same time. After a brief stint confined to working on his new album, Jared will hit the road in the fall and spring alongside the likes of Trace Bundy, Ryan Horne, and Cadillac Sky.
