I live in a state where 7 months out of the year there is either ice on the ground, or there is a temperature below 30 degrees. Everyone says Minneapolis is a great place to live, and i would have to say all in all, its quite welcoming. I don't want to live here my whole life, so i dream and aspire to see myself in a warmer climate. I have three children and I am what some may call... a Neo-Soul singer. I have a talent in which i am a writer that likes to sing. I have released my first album, entitled, "Blue Dandelions" and am in the process of working on my second. The music business is a cold hard place to be, and with the introduction to the internet, a musicians way of making money is harder and harder. In the past, Records and cassette tapes had to be purchased, but now with the internet and MP3's and all those other slick ways to get music for free, it makes it harder and harder for the artist to actually make money selling their music. The only upside is that the internet can reach people all over the world, but back to the flip side.. no one likes to pay for something they get for free. I can respect that hustle. I myself have downloaded music in my life, but see how frustrating it is when people just expect to be able to get things for free because it comes with a tag that says .mp3.

I have three children and am divorced, am in school full time for graphic design, and do music every night till I fall asleep. With the exception to actually composing the music, I do everything else myself. I write, record, mix, edit and then put out and promote myself. Thats why i think American Idol is a joke. Show me some real talent, not just a big karaoke show.

I have been writing since a very young age. I still have note books of my work from in junior high. I continued to write until I actually had the opportunity to put music behind my poetry and then record it. I went from studio to studio got burned by a few producers and decided to take the money i was wasting and put it into my own equipment and figure it out. I have been doing that for the last 5 years and just now released that first album. I waited for a while i guess because i was worried about how my writing would be received. Writing is a very personal thing. A lot of emotion and pain and joy goes into ones writing and many people are quick to judge based off of their own demons.. yes Im talking about the HATERS!

Once i got over that... I started putting my music out and doing shows. I've performed in many places like Minnesota of course, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Washington DC, and was fortunate enough to spend the whole summer performing with a live band in Honolulu, Hawaii.
