Heats: Wed 9th - Wed 30th October Semi - Finals: Wed 6th & Wed 13th November Grand Final : Wed 20th November Want to know more - email Jamie: email@example.com Ok guys and girls, The Voice of Peakhurst kicks off this Wednesday and for those of you competing or just coming along to watch here's a little rundown on how the comp will go. HEATS AND FINALS We have scheduled 4 heats, 2 semi-finals and 1 Grand Final. Heats: we expect 12-14 singers per show, one song each, best 3 to proceed to the semi finals. Each semi final has 6 singers who need to sing two songs. Half proceed, half are excluded. 6 singers sing two songs in the Grand Final. One winner takes the $3000 Grand Prize. JUDGING This will be 50: 50 based on The Clapometer and on the assessment made by Danni, thus a person who brings a big supporter team can boost their prospects. There is no right of protest, review, argument, enquiry, clarification or any such thing. The decision of the judge and the clapometer is final. SINGERS In the heats singers may play solo or be accompanied on acoustic guitar or plug in keyboards. In the semis and finals they must sing with the house band. The judge may as she sees fit take into account the difference between a singer performing with familiar team mates and a singer taking their chances with the house band. Where a song is chosen twice the second singer will be offered the chance to choose something else or risk letting the audience down. Don't forget, if you want to sing you must register online at tinyurl.com/voicecomp, there's still time!
