How many people can say they create music with their best friend. Quite a few you can imagine. But...how many of those people can say they were born on the same day in the same year, took guitar lessons from the same instructor and have remained friends since childhood days? jamesWolf. The songwriting duo of Brent Cook and Jurgen Schlote use a combination of their middle names to make up their moniker and bare enough of a resemblance to each other to be asked often if they are brothers. Looking closely at their press photo, one realizes it is a combination of both their faces made to look like one. For jamesWolf, the last couple of years has offered up some pleasant surprises. A songwriters circle at a CMT gala led to the president of the BCCMA Don Adams offereing them an opportunity to play at the BC Country music awards.Their style of writing is not country but Adams believed their music defenitely had "crossover" appeal. Another person the songwriters met was Bob D'eith, an entertainment lawyer and president of Music BC, who had the idea to approach the Turks and Caicos government to see if there was any interest in licencing their song "turks and caicos" As much as jamesWolf enjoy's the challenge of writing music they also appreciate playing their songs in front of an audience. With a blend of strong melodies and thoughtful arrangements their music has been appealing to a variety of listeners when they perform in support of their latest release "evolution".
