Once I believed my life would turn around some day;
Used to think that by and by that I would find my way.
Now the best years of my life have passed me by;
Can't win for losing - no matter how I try.
Mine is a lonely life;
Filled with bitterness and strife.
When I look into that setting sun;
I'm a broken loser on the run
Used to believe in love and brotherhood of man;
Now I just believe we all do the best we can;
To look out for number one and maybe a chosen few.
I really think is the best that we can do.
