“Senior James Stankunas, who plays the lead role of Huckleberry Finn, has already had a taste of fame. He recently was chosen for the All Eastern Chorus, which is comprised of the top 1 percent of high school singers in the country and performed with the chorus in Baltimore in early April. “It kind of feels like the entire play is on me because when the pace is down, more than likely it’s going to be because of me,” Stankunas said. “So it’s more pressure and it’s going to get me prepared for the real world just in case I want to do Broadway or some kind of musical theater when I get out.””
“A high point of Stankunas' singing career will take place on Sunday, April 3, in Baltimore, when he performs for an audience of thousands as a member of the prestigious 2011 MENC (Music Educators' National Conference) All-Eastern Chorus. By virtue of his performance in the 2010 Pennsylvania All-State Chorus and his second-place ranking, Stankunas was chosen to sing in this select group of talented high school students from the Eastern region of the United States.”
