Jack's musical beginnings happened at Bancroft Jr. High and Fairfax High. At those schools he became friends and musical partners with the late Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist Hillel Slovak, Eleven singer/guitarist Alain Johannes, bassist Flea and vocalist Anthony Kiedis.
