Throw the rules out the window. I. Write has never been one to follow rules. Then again most success stories embrace this concept. I Write is no exception. His voice, music and talent exude greatness. So dare I ask, why follow the rules when you can make them?

Keith “I. Write” Freeman is an American rapper born on August 14, 1978, in Chicago, IL. He is the Co-founder of Popular Music Inc., along with James “Rhythm Ghost” Ferrell. The two started Popular Music Group in 2007 after several attempts to land a record deal failed. In December 2007 the duo released Pardon the Interruption under the name Phlock Of Phoenix, the city in Illinois in which James was raised. The album had very little success only selling 500 copies and 3000 ringtones. In an effort to change the labels image I. Write began his solo career in 2008 with the release of Kinda Blu. That too wasn’t received very well, but in the summer of 2008 I. Write began putting together a variable on slot of freestyles to such hits like Maybach Music, and They Know. The compilation would be dubbed as “The Black Market Mixtapes”. Then his brother and former A&R would help him develop his freestyle approach to recording. In May 2009 I. Write unveiled the first in a saga of albums triumphantly entitled “Press Release”. The recording was received with enormous enthusiasm and in June of 2009 “It’s Cool” debuted on national powerhouse radio station WGCI 107.5 in Chicago. Following in WGCI’s footsteps were several other Clear Channel and CBS Radio stations nationwide. Although “Its Cool” peaked out before making the Billboard Charts, it served as a launching pad for his highly anticipated next album “Press Release 2.0”. The scheduled date for its release is December 2009. Either way the future looks bright for the Hip Hop.
