About
Isaac James and Pape Daly (pronounced pop-dolly) met in Dakar, Senegal, in 2005. Isaac quickly learned that Pape was a famous, talented singer, who had been working with world renowned Senegalese artists for the past 5 years. Isaac went on to propose some kind of musical collaboration with Pape, suggesting that they record in a local studio in Dakar. Over the course of a week in february, 2005, they created 3 songs that would eventually take the form of "Rendez-vous Dakar". The inspiration for the recording came from the vibrant and colorful people of Dakar, Senegal, W. Africa. All of the instruments on the album are played by Isaac James, including, Drum set, Bass, guitar, keyboards, and recorder flute. The world famous Tama Player, Assane Thiam, ads some talking drum, to the soul of "Africa is my Home". While the cool, energetic vioce of Pape Daly puts down the story in his native tongue, Wolof, and of course French. This EP has a touch of African groove, funk/soul, and constructive lyrics!! Dont miss it!!
