Infinite-Lane Highway (ILH) was created by Marc Savoie in 2007.
The son of a TV repairman and retailer, Marc was born near Montreal and started learning the guitar at the age of twelve. An avid Beatles and Zeppelin fan, he quickly formed various band projects with high school friends who shared his passion for sixties and seventies rock music. At the time though, Marc was equally passionate about drawing and painting and was seriously thinking of becoming a comic book author. It wasn’t until he reached his twenties that he picked up his guitar again and started writing songs (in French at the time).
With just a couple of songs and shows under his belt, he became a finalist of Le Festival de la chanson de Granby, a major songwriting contest here in Quebec. He then formed Prester John, an alternative rock band, followed by The Graduates, for which he wrote more mainstream material. After two independent albums with Prester John and multiple demo tapes and shows with The Graduates, Marc went off solo and built a little home studio in order to record some of his old songs the way he had always envisioned them. Adding brand new material as well, he recorded his most self-satisfying album to date: Infinite-Lane Highway.
Marc is currently working on the follow-up to Infinite-Lane Highway’s first opus, which will again mix some of his most enduring material as well as many brand new songs.
