“Indicator Dogs have their own schtick, not wearing their influences prominently. Hard to put a finger on, but there’s certainly elements of Helmet’s economic riffery, Shihad’s Churn-era aggression and Pantera’s balls-out rockism. Indicator Dog’s grasp of dynamics stands them apart though, as their compositions take interesting deviations, weaving through multiple progressions, while always returning to a central theme. This gives the band ample opportunity to display their musical prowess, the rhythm section in particular, exhibiting devilish dexterity throughout the mercurial meters of these songs. Guitarist Dan Young has a fine line in chunky riffs, but also knows when to hang back with melodic counterpoint.”

***6:45 PM SATURDAY 6/4 WAREHOUSE LIVE STAGE*** Free Press Summer Fest is held at Houston’s Eleanor Tinsley Park, located within the beautiful rolling hills of the greater Buffalo Bayou Park. Situated on the very outskirts of downtown, Tinsley Park marries the very best of city and natural settings with its natural grass amphitheater set on the bayou overlooking Houston’s impressive skyline. We have been very lucky to have some amazing artists play the last two years, but this year's festival lineup takes the cake. We're featuring a handful of notable acts such as the Grammy-nominated Weezer, Yeasayer, Cut Copy, Ween, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, MF Doom, Black Dahlia Murder and, of course, boat loads more. But, because we love seeing you guys on the edge of your seat, we are keeping a few BIG lineup-names up our sleeve. We will announce them 'soonish.' FPSF will host a limited access 'Dancey Pants' tent with TBA electronic artists. Our friends at Gritsy and Reprogram Music will curate this 'Dancey Pants' tent. Also, we're expanding our footprint once again to include another natural grass amphitheater. There will be plenty to see and passes will stay, and we quote, 'absurdly affordable.' Free Press Summer Fest will remain, by and large, the most reasonably priced festival of its kind in the country. There's no excuse. You have to be there.
