Bio: Charity Case was founded in Charlotte, NC in 2001. For ten years, Charity Case has enjoyed playing to sold-out crowds in hundreds of clubs and venues. Since its inception the band has donated 100% of performance proceeds to Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids charity. To date, they have raised $800,000.

“Ace & T.J., whose 13-year run at WNKS-FM ("Kiss" 95.1) ended abruptly six months ago, are headed back to morning drive time in Charlotte next month, one click up the dial. They reached agreement Friday afternoon with Clear Channel Radio's Charlotte group to join WHQC-FM ("Channel 961," 96.1) beginning Jan. 9. "Channel 961" is the main rival with "Kiss" for young listeners. It will be essentially the same show they did during their years at "Kiss." Since leaving the CBS Radio station in May after they could not agree on a new contract, Ace & T.J. have continued to do their show, which is syndicated to 14 other cities, from the Clear Channel studios off Billy Graham Parkway each weekday. Producer Pete Herrick will join them on the broadcasts as before, along with Breezekat and Riggins. Friday's agreement is a multi-year deal, Clear Channel said. "Welcoming them back to Charlotte is our pleasure," said Charlie Wilkinson, Clear Channel's general manager in Charlotte....”

“Ace & T.J., whose Louisiana accents and down-home banter filled the air during Charlotte's morning drive for 13 years, abruptly left WNKS-FM ("Kiss" 95.1) Friday. They were unable to reach terms with the station's owner, CBS Radio, at the end of their five-year contract. "We have been in negotiations with them and just couldn't come to an agreement," T.J. said Friday. "We had a good run the past 13 years and look forward to making a major announcement regarding our new morning show," said John Reynolds, operations manager for "Kiss." Both men are under contract for the rest of the month and had expected to work through next week, but were told by CBS management after Friday's show that the run had ended. "We don't have any ill will toward them," T.J. said. "That was a great 13 years of our lives." He said that when they negotiated their first contract in Charlotte in 1998, they dined with executives at Sullivan's Steak House in the South End, and followed it up with drink.......”

“Charity Case Announces Unique Concert for Tenth Anniversary Celebration Charlotte, NC – May 18, 2011 – Charity Case, the wildly popular Charlotte-based cover band from the Ace & TJ Radio Show, will celebrate its tenth anniversary by performing a free concert at the Hickory Metro Convention Center on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Doors will open at 7:30 PM and opening bands Jaz, 50-Watt Freight Train and The Air Station will start at 8 PM. The night of celebration, sponsored by Hickory Tavern, will celebrate the bands 10-year career and the fact that they have raised $800,000 to date for Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids (501c3) charity. The free show will be packed with fan favorites as well as the band performing new material. Several guests will join the band on stage including Tommy DeCarlo, lead vocalist from legendary band Boston. “This is going to be a night and a celebration to remember,” states Ace, the band’s front man and popular radio personality from the syndicated Ace & TJ Show.”
