"I Became the Sky" was formed in 2006... Founding members include Joe Bonham, Elissa Lord, Noah Sawatzki, Jon Kowaleski, and Joe Luplow. The members have all been friends for quite a while. Sawatzki & Kowaleski were formely involved in the rock group "Somewhere Safe." After parting ways with "Somewhere Safe" Sawatzki and Kowaleski decided to take a break from the scene. Bonham, Lord, and Luplow were also in a band prior to "I Became the Sky." The group was called "The Color Tour." They were a jazz-based fusion group. After "Somewhere Safe" split, members of "The Color Tour" decided it was time for a change. Bonham would soon start collaborating with Sawatzki on numerous styles and variations of music. Growing anxious the duo decided it was time to call in the rest of the group.
