Having spent the last year touring, playing live and writing and recording debut material, building up a head of steam, a reputation for raucous and energetic live shows and a UK fan base in the process, Max Raptor followed up their first two single releases (Ghosts in Oct and The Great and the Good in March last year) with their debut full length, 8-track Portraits on 11th April 11 to unanimous praise in the rock and online press and support from BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Kerrang! Radio, BBC Introducing and XFM. Max Raptor, in their mid-20s, concede that the contrived nu-metal era was (thankfully) a gateway to the essential alternative listening they treasure today; including the classic punk of The Clash and The Buzzcocks, new-wave of The Jam, pop-edge of Manic Street Preachers, post-stadium riffage of The Foo Fighters, not to mention the raw extremities and energy of contemporaries such as Zico Chain, Cancer Bats and The Ghost Of A Thousand. Having already played with the likes of Billy Talent, Blood Red Shoes, Oceansize and Ash, Max Raptor supporting heroes The Stranglers on tour was like a dream come true. Following on from main-support slot on the rammed Red Bull Stage of Download Festival last year, the band are headlining their own national tours these days and are working on a video for debut single proper The King Is Dead in order to soundtrack the bands festival appearances this summer. Formed out of the twisted remains of Cable, Scribble and Iris, The Hudson Super Six released their debut 7" and mini album for Sumo Construction in 2005 and 2006 respectively. They live in Derby, UK and have just finished work on a full length debut album, produced by Paul Tipler (Cable, StereoLab, IdleWild, 80s Matchbox, Earl Brutus etc). 13 songs are recorded, mixed and Mastered. Part One was Released on 12/12/11. Parts Two and Three are to be released in 2012. Opening the show is Terrors.
