..."this 'experimental punk trio' sounds like they could open for both THE JESUS LIZARD and ALice in Chains."”
“MONTAG #2 Part 1
"Although many of the music profiles in this 'zine might satisfy those seeking undiscovered indie and garage rock, HERSISTER is ideal for those looking for selections in raw hardcore, but be warned, they offer some suprises in their craft that even the fans of
experimental indie rock might recognize.
“MONTAG #2 Part 2
Based out of Middletown NY, this band of brothers is doing some interesting experimentation with hardcore/screamcore (a little like early Descendents and not as screamcore as metal bands and not as thrash as Toxic Narcotic) and various forms of indie rock, and it's done in sort of gradual procession, but careful not to depart too far from their roots. They are first and foremost more hardcore punk, and it is this style that dominates tracks like The Wreck. But, in From The Womb, it is periodically blended with a resonance of the backup vocalist. It is a track reminiscent of mid-80's/late-80's punk, something like Black Flag with the guitar work of Iggy Pop's Repo Man that is simple and repetitive, and at times knocks the listener into consciousness with a strange humming vocal that comes in and out.”
“MONTAG #2 Part 3
RX offers more slo-tempo vocals and drum work are more pronounced(and likely recorded live or at least,lo-fi.),which is more nearly a total break from the genre, but maintains the lyrical style
(balladcore?).I wonder if the freshman album, Antimatter,(released on the groups own Graphic Sound Label) is foreshadowing a direction that is yet to come.”
fresh new song, listen, vote, whatever...
