Bio
Cynicism, humour & a broken heart. Quirky songwriter who has a somewhat warped view of the world.
About
I have always been obsessed with music. I've tried on a number of occasions to get involved with making music. In my late 20's I was bass player in 2 one-gig bands ("Making Garage Doors Badly" being my favourite). But, coz my sister told me I couldn't sing when I was 12, I never took it very far. Not long after my 40th birthday I met this musician who I started to hang around with, after about a year I asked for a singing lesson. Who knows, my sister may have been wrong...
Well, I'm still not sure, but I do it anyway! I even write my own stuff. I'm struggling with the guitar, but I sometimes manage to make my songs sound vaguely like I hear them in my head.
I write songs about all sorts of things in all sorts of styles, my lyrics have been described as "intelligent" (I should hope so...) & "cynically humorous" (I can't help it). I've written so many songs that it's hard to keep up with them as far as recording is concerned.
I can be heard playing at open mic nights & folk clubs in & around Bristol (UK) most nights of the week. I gig occasionally. I'd like to do more but I can't be bothered with all the hassle of chasing promoters. I'm sometimes accompanied by my good friend Richard Burley (www.myspace.com/richardgburley) who is a great songwriter, fabulous guitarist & super singer as well as being good people.
