"Heather McCready is a remarkable talent whose singing voice is the perfect mix of class and clarity. On her latest EP, 'Give It A Day', Heather sings her heart out and gives us an album teeming with grace. "Sunshiny Day" is a sweet and simple song that Heather's voice really shines on, making it the perfect way to open the album. I can easily hear this playing over the speakers in Starbucks while I'm sipping my Caramel Macchiato enjoying the morning sunshine. This song is a winner. The EP's title track, "Give It A Day", is absolutely my favorite song... What's remarkable about this song is that Heather is a treated and functioning bi-polar survivor, making it that much more special and awesome. "Heather is My American Idol!"
"Finally Free" is the 2009 follow-up for McCready and, like her first, the title track- a secular song in the country/bluegrass vein about being carefree- is one of the two standouts. The other is the track "Scarborough Fair". That song s a "tribute" to the original Paul Simon song, which is new lyrics by McCready with some of Simon's tune mixed in. The arrangement (By Milo Deering, who does most of the arrangements on McCready's albums) is gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, that describes McCready's voice!" (4 out of 5 stars!)
"Without a dobt Heather is one of the talents I count one hand that I have ever had the privelege to work with. "Her voice, lyrics and accompaniment captivate the senses and pour into your very soul."
