Haven USA / Press

“While it may sound like record company hype, every word is true: "Haven are the latest female fronted melodic rock sensation!" One gets hooked on the 12 track masterwork from the first listen. Vocals are perfectly balanced with arrangements and the blend of styles included on the CD will delight the broadest of audiences. Pamme's vocal prowess is captivating in every respect and her power is perfectly complimented by tremendous and standout guitar playing. Material is evocatively sung with just the right level of vibrato and harmony vocal layering. We were especially delighted with the vocal mix. Pamme is never overwhelmed by the instruments; however, the songs clearly demonstrate John Vaneslow's guitar virtuousity and Michael Brody's keyboard skill. Haven are a radio friendly band likely to draw tremendous exposure. And they must be great to see on stage. Certainly worth a trans-Atlantic journey in every respect, this rocking CD features absolutely stunning vocals. A must listen!”

“If you yearn for the days when radio-friendly bands had the ability to write good songs spanning a variety of emotions while maintaining a strong sense of melody, Haven is a band well worth searching out. Overall, the CD seems to have a certain uplifting spiritual feel to it without any overt Christian rock overtones. ”

“Imagine Quarterflash (those of you old enough to even have a clue of who that is) with more dynamic music with roots in hard rock rather than R&B and Jazz. That is HAVEN! Pam's vocals would sound great saying the pledge of allegiance, but with the driving force of the guitars on this CD it's pure energy, the likes of which are very rare these days in popular music. Even the songs that are album filler are potential hits because of her vocal delivery, but the hits "HOLD ON" and "CAN YOU HEAR US" well they just flat out rock! If you are a fan of the likes of Benatar, Lita Ford, or any really powerful female rock vocal, you will love this music!!”

“A great band from the Thousand Oaks area in California, Haven's material offers skillfully crafted songs ranging from good time melodic hard rockers like 'Hold On', 'Forgiveness', 'Strange Premonition' & 'Show Them', to delicate power ballads 'Someday Soon', 'The Road', 'All I Ever Need' & 'Face The Day'. I'd say that Haven is inspired by the likes of Heart, T'Pau, Private Life, MSG and Journey, and the influences show as the band mustered up a number of guest artists including Jimmy Hotz from Fleetwood Mac, Steve Klong from Wilson Phillips & Richard Marx, former Guns 'N Roses drummer Matt Sorum & former MSG vocalist Robin McAuley, all of which add to the music's quality and make the album sound fresh and exciting. 'Forgiveness' is a brilliant melodic rocker with great melodies and killer chorus to sing along to, while 'The Curtain' is a stronger track with great lyrics. These 2 along with 'Hold On' & 'Someday Soon' are my favourites. This is a marvelous effort worth investigating. ”

“From the first tone of "The Curtain" you'll be thinking 'Hey, is this the new VIXEN album? No, it's not, but Pamme's voice is very similar. So I think most people will compare HAVEN with a band such as VIXEN. But I also hear influences of bands such as PRIVATE LIFE and HEART in their music. Especially in rock ballads, such as "All I Ever Needed", "Halfway Home" and "Face The Day" these influences are present. The album is a mix of ballads and more up-tempo songs. Highlights for me are: "Forgiveness", "Show Them", "Hold On" and "Strange Premonition". Because of her great voice and good looks, Pamme will surely be the main attraction in HAVEN, but let's not forget the boys. In particular the great guitar solos by John Vanselow and the other parts by multi musician Michael Brody. If you like the bands I mentioned earlier, don't hesitate and buy the album. The album contains twelve tracks and gives you over an hour of ear candy. Recommended! ”

“Through the years I heard some great singers female and male. My favorite rock singer has always been Ann Wilson (Heart). Since I received this CD I have a new name on the top of my list. Pamme does not only look awesome she has also an amazing voice. All songs also feature the excellent guitar work of John Vanselow.”
