“Hadlock has the big 80's down. In fact, this band's 80's are more like M-80s - they've got all the big noise without the window dressing and Aqua Net. Braving the searing heat at the Lilac Festival Saturday night, this hard and heavy outfit rocked before a crowd of approximately 8000 souls. On stage, the band is serious about the music, and not the least bit caught up in the posturing that led to hair metal's implosion in the first place. The new album sounds just as good, but sometimes the cover photos have a bit of a vintage throwback effect that might confuse a few folks into thinking this is a revival band. That ain't the case, jack; Hadlock is now. Battling with a few technical glitches, leader/singer Kris Hadlock led the charge with a grin and several guitars in assorted colors so garishly neon that you could see them from space. The sound was big and loud and beautiful and the crowd responded in kind.”
