Celebrate the return of WimBash to Sully’s Pub & Tiki Bar in Hartford, CT on Saturday, August 18, 2012 as world class bassist Doug Wimbish and NovaSound Studio present WimBash>>Hartford 2012! This year’s annual Hartford WimBash is set with a jam packed entire day of music and festivities. Joining Doug will be fellow Grammy Award winning Living Colour bandmates Vernon Reid and Will Calhoun along with a very special surprise musical guest to be announced soon! The Fort Washington, Philadelphia School of Rock House Band will be making a special guest appearance following their acclaimed performance recently at WimBash>>Philadelphia 2012. Artist clinics from 2 pm to 6 pm hosted by WimBash musicians will feature programs in music production, bass, guitar, drums, percussion, vocals, keyboards, effects and tone and programming. Stuart Spector from Spector Bass and David Koltai from Pigtronix will be in attendance for product demo/ discussion and to offer up a hello! A sponsor area featuring Doug’s sponsors will be set up for showcasing products, brochures and merchandise. Give aways and raffles featuring products and merchandise offered by Doug’s sponsors will be held thruout the event. Appearing for the first time at WimBash will be Doug’s son, Evan, showcasing his vocal talents. Against the Girl, an Atlanta based band that Doug is a member of and has recorded with in conjunction with Graham Marsh, Grammy Award winning producer of CeeLo Green’s “Forget You”, will also be performing for the first time at WimBash. ONE.25 CONCERT A Drexel University AXP (Alpha Chi Rho) Benefit for the Alexander-Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund On Saturday, June 2nd at World Café Live (3025 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104) the fraternity brothers of Alpha Chi Rho at Drexel University will be hosting the second annual One.25 Concert for the Alexander- Williamson Scholarship Fund. The concert will feature some of the best bands from Philadelphia such as Joe Jordan, Supreem & the New Experience, Joe Malachi & The Dave Quicks Trio, MACH22, and Grind City will round out this bill for a night of powerful and fun hard rock alternative acts. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $13. The Alexander-Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to memorialize two of AXP fraternity brothers who passed away in a fatal car accident on January 25, 2009. This tragedy deeply affected the chapter, as well as the entire Drexel community. The One.25 Concert was organized as an annual event to raise money in memory of Ian Alexander and John Williamson so Alpha Chi Rho could give incoming freshmen scholarships to further assist them in their academic experience at Drexel University. In the last year AXP raised over $10,000.00 for the endowment that will be used give away the scholarships.
