Grenzenlos is an organization for innovative music, consisting of a fixed ensemble, international roster of artists and composers, recording label and artistic management company. It has branches in Zürich, New York City, Berlin, Melbourne, and, from 2008, in Hong Kong.
Formed in 2006, Grenzenlos means Borderless or Limitless in German. Its members are some of the world's leading soloists in the field of innovative music. Grenzenlos' mission is to use new music to facilitate intercultural dialogue, through innovative programming, multimedia and interdisciplinary collaborations, and long-term projects that foster greater inter-cultural understanding.
Members of Grenzenlos perform/ have performed as part of the Berlin Philharmonic, Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien and ELISION among others. Grenzenlos has performed at such prestigious venues as Princeton University (USA), Meran Palace (Austria) and the ORKA-M Institute (India). In 2008-2009 it will commence its first concert series in New York City, with performances at Symphony Space and the New York Times Center. In 2008, Workshops also take place at the University of London.
In July 2008 a small group from Grenzenlos will travel to Hong Kong and south-east China to prepare for their longer-term collaborations. They will meet with local arts organizations, composers, ensembles and festival organizers, and give several preview concerts. In October 2008, they will tour China, with residencies at the Shanghai Conservatory and at the People's Theatre in Beijing. Grenzenlos management is also hoping to establish a permanent branch in Hong Kong starting in 2008, aiming to facilitate international artistic exchanges in the region.
Spektral Records will release Grenzenlos' first CD in October 2008.

WELCOME TO THE GRENZENLOS JULY 2008 NEWSLETTER! >> This mid-year is an exciting time for Grenzenlos, as we gear up for a full summer of activities, concerts and workshops! Highlights include a three-week residency in China and and also at the University of London. In October, Grenzenlos will be in residence at the Shanghai Conservatory (China) and the Omnibus Laboratorium (Uzbekistan). As well as this we will be launching our first New York City concert series in the 2009 season. We hope you may be able to join us for some of these activities! with EmergencyLab (Hong Kong), Noise Asia (Hong Kong) and the Guangdong Modern Dance Company (Guangzhou) for their for their first residency in China. Each concert in the tour will focus on a different element of the idea of 'Borders'. This will be an interactive multimedia production, searching for connections between different art forms and media. Grenzenlos will interact with local artists through a mixture of live performances and intermedia installations, and working with leading sound artists, visual artists and mainland China's oldest modern dance company. This is the first of Grenzenlos' China | Contemporary series, a 2-year program focusing on artistic exchanges in China. FEATURE>> Two Grenzenlos members, vocalist Daisy Press and flautist Richard Craig, will take part in workshops with two legends of the middle generation Khyal singers from India. This project will bring together some of India's greatest musicians with their peers from Western contemporary art music, resulting in situations where composer-performers can collaborate in ways previously not possible. This three-year project will result in performances all over Europe, the USA and India.

A talented musician, installation artist, composer and producer based in Melbourne, he will tour to China this July with a specially commissioned percussion installation.
