Bio
A veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard, Fahey has a deep love of both God and country. After graduating from college, Fahey has worked mostly in juvenile corrections as a counselor to troubled youth. "I can relate to those young men and women who seem a little lost and are hurting for some stability in their life. A deep, committed, personal relationship with God is what they need, they just don't understand what that involves. As a singer/songwriter my primary goal is to explain those dynamics the best I can and to convince the listener that it is something real and not made-up fantasy".
About
GORDON WARD FAHEY

With a full-on two octave range and emotion-driven first tenor harmonies, Gordon Ward Fahey is performing songs destined to take the national music scene by storm. Fahey writes from the heart and sings as if he has something to say and only a short time to say it. Song writing and recording as a full-time pursuit is a recent venture for Gordon Ward Fahey. He is first and foremost, a husband and father to 3 children. Fahey says, "I needed a sure and stable income in order to fulfill my responsibility to family" and "music was mostly a hobby that I thoroughly enjoyed on the side." Now in the second half of his life Fahey has determined to give back some of the benefit of his experiences through music and song.
Fahey received numerous scholarships throughout his college years to participate in both concert choirs and select vocal ensembles. The roots of his Christian faith extend deep and like many accomplished recording artists, he began to exercise and hone his musical talents in a church setting. Fahey has been a choir member and gifted soloist in various congregations since boyhood and has never forgotten those well-established roots.

Says Fahey, "those early experiences were indeed seminal and certainly inspired my current love of gospel music and the old hymns, but that early affection for worship music has grown deeper through the years as my relationship with God has grown. It comes more from the heart now I think. Christian music in general and gospel in particular is more than a demographic or genre in music, it's a lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise. It's about giving God the glory in all circumstances and in all things, the good and ... well.... the not so good".
A veteran of the U.S. Navy and former sergeant in the Army National Guard, Fahey has a deep love of both God and country.

Some major musical influences throughout Fahey's life have included Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg and of course Johnny Cash. "As a young boy we used to go to a local cafe where there were juke-box players at every booth and Mom would always give me a couple dimes to play my favorites while we ate. Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue" was a favorite along with Jeanie C. Riley's "Harper Valley PTA". While Gordon's music can spread across various genres, he has shaped a style which is truly unique. Fahey comments that "I mostly sing Christian and Gospel music now, however I cannot put aside the influences that have shaped my style over the years. Like it or not, the music you listen to will leave an indelible mark on your soul and that is primarily why I try to always keep it positive, both the songs I write and those that I listen to in my personal life".
