Bio
Goodbye Dyna is the name of the new project of Andy Jacobs and Jason Schmidt, formerly of Bend-based alt-rock bands Blame Amy and Vihara, respectively.
The project grew out of Jacobs’ effort to write a song per month for a year. He and Schmidt then took those songs and spent the summer recording the band’s new album, “XXVII,” with Schmidt playing most of the drum parts, and Jacobs recording everything else.
About
Singer/songwriter Andrew Mowbray Jacobs has been writing songs steadily since 2001. When he turned 27 he decided that it was time to start working heavily on his music career. He quit his job and bought all the recording equipment he needed to complete his debut album. Drummer Jason Schmidt could see Andy's vision and wanted to help by lending his drumming skills to the album with Jacobs performing everything else. Within a few months the album was completed and Andy had recruited a bassist (Dylan Alm) and guitarist (Tyler Moss) to recreate the album live. On November 22nd they performed for the first time as 'Goodbye Dyna' at the Tower Theatre in Bend, Oregon. With 'XXVII' released, a sophomore album in the works, and a fall tour in their sights, Goodbye Dyna have a bright future indeed.
