Madalyn Sklar, founder of GoGirlsMusic.com, created GoGirlsMusicFest, a series of annual showcase events across the United States. The festival promotes independent women in music while supporting various charities which have included MusiCares, Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, American Liver Foundation, The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research, UNOS and more. Since 2000 there has been well over 150 all volunteer-run Fest shows!

“GoGirlsMusicFest Celebrates 11 Years by Giving Back to Local Charities. In the eleven years that GoGirlsMusicFest founder Madalyn Sklar has orchestrated the independent music festival celebrating women in music across the country, her focus has always also been on giving back to charities and causes that are making an impact. For the last nine years, Sklar has tied all of the events together with a common beneficiary. This year, Sklar is returning to the roots of the festival by focusing on nine charities that are close to the hearts of those in the nine communities hosting the events.”
