GlitzGlam has been performing now for almost 14 years. The 1st gig was at a bar called Electra in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. GlitzGlam has worked just about every venue there is in Florida from Tampa and Orlando all the way to West Palm Beach and Miami!
I have always admired the club kids; so I started putting glitter on my face. Glitter= Glitz was born!!! Then the woman in me started to growl=:)+ Grrrr Gowns! I loved wearing the corset and giving BODY! =Glamour! The day after Glitz Glamour was created a friend brought me a cushion pad off his 9 year old nieces BMX bike. In hot pink glitter and rhinestones was "GLITZ GLAMOUR" It was meant to be. However, nowadays there's a another character on the block who goes by GlitzGlam. When I first moved to Florida it was 1995. I was in a new place and had no restrictions my family was 1500 miles away and nobody could see. When I was little I used to wear water balloons and my mom's bra's she did catch me once that I remember because I feel asleep and left the bra on the floor in the living room behind a chair! LOL After that it was clear dressing up was not right behavior. Then when I started to go out in Connecticut and a drag queen was very RUDE too me on a couple of occasions. So I never hung out with queens; I thought all were BITCHES! So hop back to florida 1995 I go to Glam Slam ( A club owned by Prince on Washington Boulevard.) I remember the stroke of midnight the doors to the Grand Ballroom would open and hundreds of rolling queens started rushing in. The cavernous room was barley lit and filled with smoke. A green laser light sliced through the smoke and created a green tunnel effect. In the center were these two incredible creatures. With HIGH HIGH heels, 10in Eye Lashes and Movie Film for hair! In that instant I was not looking at a BOY or GIRL but a colorful, unique and artistic creature. Human Being! From that point on I knew~
Well honey in a perfect world 3 hours. But i'm a professional give me a mirror a light and a closet! I'll be on in an hour! (that is if I have my make-up kit of coarse!)
I totally have split personalites. There are 3 distinct ones. A DIVA, Freak and Comedian. So DIVA=RuPaul, Duh! My comedic side for sure Daisy Deadpetals. for face Damien DeeVine. As for celebrities I love many but other than Ru it would be Madonna as DIVA, Marilyn Manson is my Freak and Ellen Degeneres as a comic. I LOVE her!
I currently host a night here in San Diego at a venue called "Universal" It's a fabulous lounge/dance club! It has beautiful decor and fire pits outside!!! hmmmm I co-host a night called "Twisted" with my little sister Disco Dollie. We work the door (ala very club kid/studio 54 velvet rope like!) and entertain the guests with performance art and DRAMA! It's every Friday Night! You should come=:)
My best performance would be of my own single I produced a couple years back called "Freak- Life" Tony Bongiovi had seen a show @ Voodoo Lounge and wanted to produce a show. Turns out only a couple of us had follow through and because of some other girls missed a golden opportunity. However, on the bright side I got to write and produce my single about the words and labels that society uses to describe people in our community. I try to turn their negatives into a positive! You can hear my song on my website- www.glitzglam.com
I have been with my partner for 5 years now. We met through a mutual friend and he had lived around the corner from me at the time back in Ft. Lauderdale. I found myself visiting my friend more often. (To use the computer1 lol) Anthony was a big muscular guy who was very quiet (the absolute opposite of me! I found his silence to be VERY attractive! I used to stalk him at night hoping he'd come outside. He moved away and returned about 5 years later we ran into each other and the timing was perfect! We moved together to California to open a adult gay boutique together in San Diego.
Well I never really participated much in competition. I was never very good at anything prior to drag. Then once I started drag I went to pagents and heard all the horror stories about them being so political and how some already have poster printed prior to the winner even being crowned. I never really thought it was fair. I feel this would be the second golden opportunity for me. As for recognition there was no award but I know i have accomplished alot. I worked through a 10 year functional addiction to crystal meth. It almost destroyed me, my relationship and life. I had sacrificed myself to drag and the "SCENE" I went back to schoold got my license to do acrylics and stopped working in night clubs that didn't appreciate me or pay me even close to what I was worth. I had the opportunity to get funding through a corporate sponsor and opened my store "Mankind" and have been sober for 3 years now! I now feel I have the opportunity and am in the right place to pursue my DRAG DREAMS of becoming the next DRAG SUPER STAR!! AMEN
I truly believe that we are all colorful & unique human beings. For me DRAG helps me tune in; my best possible self! I think we all share a common light and during these times of war and negativity everywhere; the light is harder to see. People sometime need a guide to remember to let go and just be! I hope people recognize they too are not just some guy or girl, not gay or straight. But beautiful and unique human beings! I hope I get a chance to share my light with everyone! AMEN
I made it through a couple years @ Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. I left after a summer turn over a scandal! At the end of my summer inter-ship @ a tacky boutique owned by the school called "Gladdings"; I purchased a dress for my mother. Now I was pretty obvious gay boy (but, At the time didn't like drag queens.) When I bought the dress the professor made a comment about me wearing the dress! I was very offended and embarrased. Little did I know she was clairvoyant! She saw the woman in me~ before I did!!!!! Long story short 3 days before the end of summer term I left school and never went back! Felt like I didn't belong=:(

Outside of Florida GlitzGlam has appeared up and down the East coast Montreal, Toronto, Massachusettes, Connecticut, Rhode Island, NYC, New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia! GlitzGlam travelled to Berlin and Nurenburg Germany as well as the Bahamas MAMA's. The single MANKIND (which by the way means ALL people regardless of gender)is about people getting labels thrown at them because it's not about who we are but what we look like to others! GlitzGlam wants people to not think BOY or GIRL but to be seen as a colorful, artistic and unique individual. Which The Hot Boys World believes is the true nature of all MANKIND!
