Bio
Gene Dawson began playing guitar in Memphis, TN in the 1960's. He moved to Maryland in 1969, he became a member of the Folk Rock group Meretrix who recorded in New York. After starting a real estate career and a family, Gene became a songwriter in the late 80's while performing in various groups. Gene's originl group, The Imperials was included in a book titled, "The Memphis Garage Rock Yearbook, 1960-1975" and his first guitar currently hangs in the private collection of the Rum Boogie Cafe on Beale Street in Memphis. Gene & his wife, Susan have been hosting a House Concert series in Maryland of over 8-years.
