Q: Where did you do your research for Forever Boy and other Cherokee stories? I imagine Chieftains and Berry College, in part.

A: I worked at New Echota for around 8 years. They come from James Mooney's book..History and Myths Of the Cherokee. Cherokee Names was written from a story Kim Baldridge found at the library @ New Echota. I wanted the children to know about how the rivers connected and where these common names they heard everyday around NW Ga. came from..Thanks for asking. The late Debby Brown had me sing that song many a time @ Chieftains I have performed it many a time @ New Echota too..
