Bio
garagee began as garagee records in 2002, as a facilitator for rob mcpherson's ecletic musical projects including 'the in theory' (electronica), 'pharaoh' (groove/funk), 'bullant' (metal) and 'the toaster project' concept. these finally combined in 2008 in a more cohesive singular approach culminating in the album '(ga/r/ADJ/i(y))'. with a style firmly rooted in loop-based, down-tempo electronica, garagee uses a broad range of acoustic world instruments combined with field recordings to create his filmic aural journeys. live shows include tim burnham ('the funknecks', 'backwoods creatures') on drums
About
Garagee originally started in 2002 as a fledgling indie label producing cd-r's for friends and family. recent fortunes, however, have seen garagee join forces with Tempest Recordings to release a self-titled debut... drawing inspiration from an eclectic range of influences and employing the use of a wide array of obscure instruments (guitar, bass, ruan, liuqin, erhu, sheng, kalimba, djembe, tibetan chimes and bells to name a few)and field recordings, rob mcpherson creates a unique blend of down tempo and loop-based tunes with real instruments. gigs also feature tim burnham on electronic drum kit.
