A collaborative effort between Rick D, Herbal J and Alain began in Belgium. R. was known as guitarist and songwriter in '99 who asked Alan (pianist) to form a new experimental band. Pooling their songwriting prowess, the core duo of Future Primitive would bring in outside collaborators whenever so desired. Electronic gear would give creative freedoms to work outside the confines of a rigid group format along with other commitments to fulfill like polishing off new techniques and teaming up with voltage freak Herbal J.
