Free Wild / Press

"Free Wild did a tremendous job as headliner for one of our largest art shows we held this year. They provided a completely appropriate balance of repertoire and volume levels for the event and were both a pleasure to watch and extremely professional and down to earth people to work with."

“I hired this band for a Christmas Party and all of the guest truly enjoyed their music and talent! What a Great time had by all. Their choice of music can not have been any better. Lee Hitchings Findlay, Ohio ”

"You sound great!"

“When singer-guitarist Martin Koop was a kid growing up in Toledo, his family used to hit a local pizza joint that would have ragtime piano and banjo players providing a fun musical soundtrack to old silent movies being shown on the wall. In a nutshell, that’s the goal for his musical trio Free Wild, which over the past two years has become a regular performing around various Northern Ohio venues. “That kind of thing disappeared from the landscape, where the music was fun and you could sing along to it,” said Koop, who has called Tiffin home for the last 10 years. “That’s what Free Wild is.””

“Free Wild recently rocked our fundraiser. Their music was a great blend of high energy fun with mood appropriate mellows. They did a great job playing to our audience and their electric performance was key in making our event a huge success.”

Carter Genson - St. Aloysius Reverse Raffle, Bowling Green, Ohio

“It is always a fun time at Chateau Tebeau Winery when Free Wild is here. Great music and a real crowd pleaser.”

“As the lead organization in the Downtown Tiffin Farmers’ Market, the Tiffin, Ohio Area Chamber of Commerce frequently engages the services of Free Wild, a local acoustic band to perform on market days. This high energy band plays a mixture of folk and blues and adds a certain flavor not frequently found in other events of this type. The band attracts it’s own following and drives additional customer traffic to the event that would otherwise not attend. This group is a real value-add which I would recommend for any event and venue.”

“While Koop may state a penchant for the out of the ordinary, the poeticism that serves him so well as a songwriter emerges in the way he described the sound of his own music: “A noisy dining car on a passenger train full of raucous ne’er-do-wells packing fiddles, guitars, whistles and other instruments of mass deconstruction.” This wide-ranging philosophy translates well to his other projects. His most recent project, Free Wild, is a work in progress, and serves as Koop’s pop, rock and R&B tangent.”
