About

This melodic piano-driven quartet from Philly has had a quite a year.  Their single, "Firefly", from the band's debut album found a home at #1 on the Clear Channel unsigned charts for almost 4 months and was featured on over 450 Clear Channel station websites and yielded many live spins as well.   All of this coming shortly after being selected the flagship band for a new online venture, American Idol Underground.  This opportunity would lead to appearances on FOX and NBC television as well as a full feature in American Idol the Magazine.  Celebrities such as Teddy Geiger (Columbia recording artist) and Alex Chando (CBS' As The World Turns) fed the buzz by sporting Fooling April apparel to major media events such as the 2006 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and People Magazine's "100 Most Beautiful".  The band has shared the stage with legends in the making:  Dave Matthews, John Mayer, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Dido, Carbon Leaf, Pat McGee Band among many others.  On the eve of the band's second release (due in April 2007), Fooling April is poised to establish themselves as a serious new player on the musical landscape.

PRESS

Campus Activities Magazine
Fooling April was named one of the top 10 music picks for 2007 in the October 2006 issue of Campus Activities Magazine (a publication distributed to every campus in America and many in Canada and overseas).  Selections were based on college performance report cards and writer/editor picks of bands making waves in the scene during 2006 with momentum into the new year!

Amplifier Magazine
Respected LA Music Critic and founder of The International Pop Overthrow Festival, David Bash, named "Every Good Boy Does Fine" among the 60 best albums of 2004. Those that beat them out included Brian Wilson, Tears for Fears, and Green Day.  In the May/June issue of Amplifier Magazine, Bash had this to say about the band: "If you're looking for pop rock that's blessed with style and taste, look no further than Every Good Boy Does Fine, the debut disc by Philadelphia-based combo Fooling April.  Lead singer/lyricist, Brian Kenneth's rich resonant vocals punctuate the stylish interplay between his keyboards and Rado's guitar licks.  The CD adds three live tracks, proving that Fooling April's skill is not a product of the studio.  This is a band that would have abolutely been signed in the '70s, and deserve a major label deal today.

FoundryMusic.com (Website for Nationally Syndicated Radio Show - "Opie & Anthony")
Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, with their track "Firefly" these guys show you inside of nine seconds that they know how to write melodic, hooky, pop music, with a hint of jam-band riffage.

NightTimes.com
With a keen focus on the singing and piano playing of Brain Kenneth, there is no escaping the suggestion of such 70s icons as Elton John, Steely Dan, Randy Newman and Billy Joel in the perfect pop approach of Fooling April. The jazz-soul inflections in songs like "She's With Me" and "Backslide" help to flavour this proficient exercise in pop-rock dynamics. The three live tracks at the end are a huge bonus and prove that Fooling April is indeed a 'true' band in every sense of the word.
