Health Fair will be held from 5:30-8:00 Silent Art Auction will be from 5:30-8:00 with art donated by local high school artists. Concert: 6:30-9:00 The Twin Ports Teen Council of Planned Parenthood MN, ND, SD is a youth development peer education program that strives to reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection rates, as well as promoting youth leadership through education, advocacy, and service. Each year, we organize a service project in collaboration with other youth serving organizations to give back to the community and help youth become aware of resources. With all the changes happening throughout the Twin Ports due to the Red Plan, the relocation and funding loss of the Habitat Program creates a crucial need. Habitat is a unique teen parent support program which offers child care services during the school day so young parents are able to stay in school. This program is currently located at Central High School, however next year it will be forced to move to a much smaller space in Denfeld High School. They will need new, smaller cribs and a six child stroller, without which their program cannot continue. Programs like Habitat are crucial to the success and continuation of education for teen parents in our community. Keeping this program going will provide continued opportunity for the future. For our service project this year we are raising money for the Habitat Program through a teen-centered benefit concert, art auction, and health fair. All proceeds of this event will be given to the Habitat Program. The event will take place on Saturday, December 11th at Harbor City International School from 5:30-9:00pm. If you have questions or would like to donate a piece of art or hang a poster at your organization, please feel free to contact us. Thanks for your support!
