Flaw 9 started as an idea, a desire to express emotion in original music and passion in performance. Songs were written, aspirations were acquired and this growth required a name. This led to the birth of Flaw 9.
The Music taken from various inspirations such as Tool, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and A Perfect Circle creates a collection of songs selfless in their observation of human quality verses human error. The music of Flaw 9 redefines the stereotypes of Post-Nirvanic Grunge by adding elements of intelligent arrangements to an already present melodic structure. The words induce a satirical view at "Life imitating art, art imitating life" while not placing blame on one principal figure or vision.
The name embodies a view of a birth of thought and innocence. When placed into an environment benign to itself, the one thing that separates the subject from truth, is innocence. Once confined within a system, such as the one we live. The innocence which we entered with starts to blemish and disappear. Faults uncontrollably eat away at our self, until that moment where one's belief is tested.
Flaw 9 has but one desire which is to keep its integrity as a substantial group of musicians. As a band we hope to be recognized and appreciated without compromising our music or ourselves.
