After gigging around the north-west of England, they were discovered by Richard Skinner of BBC Radio 1 in 1989 and promptly recorded their first session. Soon after, they released a 12" EP on their own Furious Fish Records and success followed with 'If I've Told You Once' making Record Of The Week in NME & Melody Maker and getting the band regular airplay on radio and television. Warners signed them and they toured and released several successful EPs before splitting in 1991.
Paul put another line-up together in 1992 and several independent releases followed with constant touring until 1997 when Fishmonkeyman finally stopped performing. Both the unreleased albums will be available soon for download thru i-tunes etc..
