From Macroom Co. Cork Fiona Kelleher is one of the finest exponents of traditional singing to emerge in the last decade. Fiona has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and as lead vocalist with one of Ireland’s top traditional bands North Cregg recording a critically acclaimed album “Summer At My Feet” winning “Best Vocal/Instrumental Album of the Year 2003 with LiveIreland.com .
Her solo debut album My Love Lies has been released to critical acclaim in 2009.

Cork  Fiona Kelleher is one of the finest exponents of traditional singing to emerge in the last decade.  Fiona has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and as lead vocalist with one of Ireland’s top traditional bands North Cregg recording a critically acclaimed album “Summer At My Feet” winning “Best Vocal/Instrumental Album of the Year 2003 with LiveIreland.com and touring extensively with the band for four years featuring at internationally renowned festivals such as Celtic Connections Glasgow, Orkney Folk Festival, Cork Folk Festival, Baltimore Fiddle Fair St.Chartier Folk Festival and Tonder Folk Festival Denmark.

 

She has continued to develop a successful career as a solo artist since parting company with North Cregg and has been involved in many collaborative projects with artists such as Mel Mercier Micheal O Suilleabhain Ger Wolfe John Spillane and Niall O Callanan among others. `Fiona has just relelased  her debut solo album “My Love Lies” produced by Donald Shaw of Capercaillie fame featuring new interpretations of well known traditional songs and also some songs written by well known songwriters in the traditional idiom such as John Spillane Cyril Tawney and Bill Caddick.

She has recently completed a very successful Irish tour grant aided by Music Network in the company of some of Ireland’s best traditional musicians Jim Murray (guitar) Richard Lucey (accordion) and Ciaran Coughlan (piano).

Upcoming work includes a song collecting project in the Muskerry Gaeltacht and more festival work for the summer and autumn.
