“For nearly two years, local pop-rock band Fickles Lot has been waiting to release its debut CD — appropriately titled "Here I Am."
"Here I Am" is the name of one of the disc's 10 songs, but also describes the availability of a project the group has wanted to get heard. Yet it took some time and changes to finally get "Here I Am" released.
"It came down to scrapping nearly everything we had," said Joseph "Jovan" Galvan of Streator, the group's lead singer. "It was like a complete makeover."
In a July 30, 2009, interview with The Times, Galvan discussed "Here I Am," then a 13-track CD of original songs that had been recorded and was undergoing post-production work before a planned fall release.
But fall passed and when the CD wasn't released, Fickles Lot made some changes to "Here I Am."
"Our record label made suggestions," Galvan said. "We made the choice to apply the advice they gave us. We're really glad we made the decision." (Click below for full article)
