“Just finished up a new Demo on a song I wrote with my Florida buddy Farnell Cole. Texas feel all the way on this one. Perley Curtis sang the demo and played Steel. Jason Roller on the fiddle and rounding out the band was Vaughn Lofstead (Guitars), Rodger Morris (Keyboards) Dow Tomlin (Bass) and Steve Holland (Drums). I bought donuts for everyone.

"Will There Be A Time In Heaven"

"I like this song a lot. I absolutely love the chorus. It sounds like "It has always been a song" no one had to write it if you understand what I am trying to say.
As good a Gospel chorus as I have ever head I think.
Not to take anything away from the verses but that Chorus takes me back to when I was 6 or 8 years old going to all day singings with dinner on the ground with my Grandma Sadie at the Farris, Oklahoma Assembly of God Church".

This will be the 3rd contest I’ve put Dave, and his song-writing pal Farnell Cole, in. First was the hilarious story song “It Ain’t Right”, then last month’s “Friends With The Devil”. Both of those songs are now in December’s finals. This month, I decided to use a song Dave just sent me, “Mama Help Me”, as their entry, so vote it into the top 5, as well. Dave told me they just had to write a C/W song about Mama, and this was the result.
