“Just finished up a new Demo on a song I wrote with my Florida buddy Farnell Cole. Texas feel all the way on this one. Perley Curtis sang the demo and played Steel. Jason Roller on the fiddle and rounding out the band was Vaughn Lofstead (Guitars), Rodger Morris (Keyboards) Dow Tomlin (Bass) and Steve Holland (Drums). I bought donuts for everyone.
Let us know what you think and for all you Cowboy singers, we are looking for a home for this one so if it sounds like something that will fit your next project let us know.
This music track (less vocal) for lease

"Will There Be A Time In Heaven"
Written by Farnell Cole & Dave Younger
"I like this song a lot. I absolutely love the chorus. It sounds like "It has always been a song" no one had to write it if you understand what I am trying to say.
As good a Gospel chorus as I have ever head I think.
Not to take anything away from the verses but that Chorus takes me back to when I was 6 or 8 years old going to all day singings with dinner on the ground with my Grandma Sadie at the Farris, Oklahoma Assembly of God Church".
Good job
Lonnie

“The Last Real Honky Tonk
Written by Farnell Cole & Dave Younger
- Very strong. Captured my attention and made me want to hear/read more. Over all I like the concept, the vocalist has a very convincing country sound and the song has lots of potential for becoming a good traditional country song. ”

“Empty Bottles
Written by Farnell Cole & Dave Younger
- I think it fits the traditional country category very well. I enjoyed listening to this song– nice overall job. Folks who love traditional country music from the 60s and early 70s will really enjoy this. I think this is a cool song. I don’t know how long you’ve been doing this, but I like the idea and the demo is solid. You obviously have a talent for this and I would keep at it! Good job guys ”

“The Miracle of Christmas
Written by Farnell Cole & Dave Younger
- I really enjoyed listening to this song. It is well-written, both lyrically and musically. I think that overall, you have a gem with this song. I hope that you will consider trying to pitch this song to a publisher. Although the Christmas music market isn’t as big as the other markets – country, rock, pop, etc. – there is a market for it, and I believe this song would work well in that market.”

“I’m Tony Kinsel, and here is one of my October 2011 Hossey Award Picks...
Mama Help Me by Dave Younger & Farnell Cole
This will be the 3rd contest I’ve put Dave, and his song-writing pal Farnell Cole, in. First was the hilarious story song “It Ain’t Right”, then last month’s “Friends With The Devil”. Both of those songs are now in December’s finals. This month, I decided to use a song Dave just sent me, “Mama Help Me”, as their entry, so vote it into the top 5, as well. Dave told me they just had to write a C/W song about Mama, and this was the result.

“Friends With The Devil" -
Dave Younger is from Pine Grove, California, playing Country & Americana Music. You probably remember Dave and his song-writing partner, Farnell Cole from High Springs, Fl, from last month’s Hossey contest, with their hilarious song “It Ain’t Right”, which is now in December’s finals. This month, I chose another of their songs,”Friends With The Devil”, as their September contest entry.”

“Farnell Cole & Dave Younger–It Ain’t Right
Dave Younger is from Pine Grove, California, playing Country & Americana Music. When I first ran across Dave on ReverbNation, I liked the songs he had up on his page, mostly covers of some of my favorites that he had available for free download. At first, I was considering using one of those songs for this month’s contest, until Dave sent me a couple of songs he’d co-written with his friend Farnell Cole from High Springs, Florida, “Friends With The Devil” & “It Ain’t Right”, which is the one I chose, listen closely to the lyrics, it’s hilarious! (Dave also pointed out that these two songs are Cole-Younger songs, like the old outlaw!) For more info on Dave Younger, and to download a bunch of cover songs for free, visit his RN page, www.reverbnation.com/daveyngr… Or check out Dave's & Farnell's songs here as also; http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/fcole

“Dave has recently been writing with Farnell Cole. The songs "Empty Bottles" and "It Ain't Right" are examples from that collaboration. Last year Dave co-wrote "Grampa's Silver Dollar" and "The Cowboy's Last Song" with Nashville producer Lonnie Ratliff.
