The core of the band is Mark Baigent (woodwinds), Andrew Cotterill (electronica, treatments, ebow guitar) & Ian Tengwall (guitar, recording engineer). Founder member Richard Moult (Piano, guitar) left in 2008.

 

Other musicians appearing on Far Black Furlong recordings have included Anne Marie Summers (Hurdy-Gurdy, Horn Flute, Medieval Harp, Clarinet),Bryony Lees (Poetry), Amanda Votta (Flute - from Lacus Somniorum and The Floating World) & John Letcher (Hammered Dulcimer).

 

The latest release is Caerbre, released March 2009 on Reverb Worship Their debut album Far Black Furlong was released on ICR records in 2007. Other releases include The East Room, Haidd, Haidd 2, Full Gathering Moon, two tracks on the compilation ‘Reynardine: The Visits of Mister Fox’, and a track on the weird-folk compilation ‘John Barleycorn Reborn: A Discovery Of Folk Music From Dark Britania’.

 

Haidd & The East Room were re-released as digital downloads on the Box Of Woks label late 2008, folowed by Full Gathering Moon and Icy Solstice Eye 2007 in early 2009. The download release of Caerbre is expected some time after September 2009.

 

Richard, Mark, Ian & Anne Marie have collaborated with Nick Grey, under the name of Far Black Furlong Orchestra.
