The EYSS Music Project
About
The Music Project first started in 2001 as the successful world music project. The project offered young people in the borough of enfield the opportunity to record a bob marley song in the either mother tounge or chosen style. The programme ran for 18 months and engaged over 250 13 - 19 years olds.
On the on success of the project, the world band was formed in 2003 as a world music orchestra. world band ran until 2006 and performed to thousands of people in and around london. In 2006 the music project made a partnership with ' enfield arts support service' to deliver workshops and tution in schools, then give the young people the chance to record their work. the work would then be performed at a showcase at the end of the school year. the festival was called giggin enfield.
In 2007 the music projct was awarded money from the youth opportunity fund and a second giggin enfield was secured.<br>
