Explicit Faith combines a rock and roll sound with a spiritual message to create meaningful performances working to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through their God given musical talents and by the strength of the Holy Spirit. Explicit Faith can be defined as the belief that the only true path to salvation was the sacrifice given on the cross, a price paid one time so that all may find salvation.
Explicit Faith traces its roots to 1997 when keyboardist Dustin “Dusty” Landacre and drummer Scott McCartney found that they had more in common than the engineering classes they were enrolled in at a local college; they both had a passion for playing music. Through numerous jam sessions including a variety of musicians and musical styles, the group began to take shape when performing for several local church services with the addition of bass player Justin Hedrick. Justin had experience playing both church services and bluegrass. The foundation for Explicit Faith had been formed. Early in 2007, Dusty was led by the Holy Spirit to establish a formal Christian rock band. Phone calls to Scott and Justin followed along with a call to guitarist Derek Shreve. Derek had been playing bluegrass locally, had recorded and produced as “Dutchhill” his own CD entitled “He Who Has Ears”. The group began learning and rehearsing cover songs as well as Derek's originals. In September, guitarist Benn Bane made the jump from lighting and effects to playing with the band. With inspirational lyrics and a driving rock and bluegrass background, Explicit Faith continues to fuse the gospel of Christ with an electric sound, and singing praises to the Lord. Watch for upcoming shows on the “Running out of Time” tour by Explicit Faith .
