2005
Inna Vibes DJ Awards, High Wycombe. Winner (Hip-Hop)
Residency at BCUC SU, supported the likes of DJ Vadim, Shortee Blitz, Mr Thing, DJ Yoda. MC and DJ sets.
2006
First gigs in Bristol. Residencies at We Like To Party, Lean2. Formed Mad Method as a radio show and club-night.
2007
Founding member of Hot Soup.
Residencies at many clubs clubnights, DJ sets supporting acts such as Blak Twang, Phi-Life Cipher, Moneyshot and Parker and many more.
Invited to become a member of Funk From The Trunk DJ crew.
Ran succesful live music nights at Oppo, Mr Wolfs and Timbuk2.
Did more gigs than any other Bristol DJ.
Named 3rd Top DJ 2007 Venue Magazine.
2008
Residencies at all major clubs in Bristol.
Funk From The Trunk Live started at The Golden Lion.
Supported too many top international acts to name.
Began production.
Tunes played on Solid Steel Radio and BBC Radio 6.
Featured artist on BBC Bristol Uncovered.
Mad Method re-invents itself as a live hip-hop crew, supporting acts such as Anti-Pop Consortium and Ill Bill.
Funk From The Trunk run a year of sell-out shows, plus residencies at top clubnights. Played to 3000 people in Queens Square.
Did more gigs than any other Bristol DJ.
Named in Top 10 DJs 2008 in Bristol Underground.
2009
Formed band Syte and the Sound.
Mad Method, Funk From The Trunk and Ewan Hoozami all respected as top class acts.
About
I am Ewan Hoozami - a producer/promoter/DJ from Bristol. I am quite possibly Bristol's busiest DJ right now, often doing multiple gigs in one night. I do this with the aid of my huge and eclectic record collection - the same record collection that allows me to make the music you are hearing.
Here are some bits of info about me:
I was named 3rd Top DJ 2007 by Venue Magazine.
I was named in the Top 10 DJs 2008 by Bristol Underground.
I have a tune on DJ Moneyshot's new Solid Steel mix (www.ninjatunes.com/solidsteel)
My music has been played on BBC Radio 6, BBC Bristol, BCFM, Passion FM and Solid Steel radio International.
I set up a hip-hop collective called Mad Method, we put on hip-hop nights, make hip hop music and have multiple releases behind us and new albums coming soon! We have supported some of hip-hop's finest acts.
I am a member of Bristol's finest funk DJ collective "Funk From The Trunk"... we regularly play at the biggest clubnights in Bristol, put on some of the funkiest bands in the UK, and consistently leave dancefloors destroyed wherever we go!
I play MPC, guitar and backing vocals in a new band Syte and The Sound - we start gigging soon.
I have an album on the way, which will include a DJ mixtape and a collection of tracks featuring the vocal talents of Social Conscience, Toyface, Kali Mist, C-Froo and Da Herbalis'...
