The SOCAN award winning composer Eugene Astapov was born in Ukraine in 1988. In 2003 he immigrated to Canada where he has been making artistic contributions into the multicultural and highly diverse society of this country. Eugene's music has been performed in Canada by the countries major ensembles including the Vancouver Symphony, Esprit Orchestra, and the Penderecki String Quartet. His music has also been heard throughout the world in the United States, France, Germany and Russia. Mr. Astapov is now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in composition at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York under the tutelage of Dr. David Liptak.
