Bio
2009 has been an exciting year of expansion and recognition for Emily Arin as a singer/songwriter. She has been a guest on on Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight on The Loft on Satellite Radio and WFUV (out of NYC), placed a song in Greenland's first international feature film (Nuummioq), was selected as one of the top 5 unknown artists by Kim Ruehl on No Depression's website, opened for The Mountain Goats at Ithaca College and is currently recording a full length album with Greg Weeks of the band Espers.

MILESTONES
* Currently working on my first official studio album at Hexham Head Studio with Greg Weeks of the band Espers
* Placed "When You Knew Me When" in Greenland's first international feature film "Nuummioq" (Other artists on the soundtrack include Giant Sand, Howe Gelb and Matt Bauer). World Premiere held in Nuuk, Greenland on October 31, 2009
* Opened for John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats at Ithaca College on September 18, 2009. Peter Glanville accompanied on electric guitar.
* Was featured on Samantha Murphy's Highway Girl Podcast in September 2009 (previously featured artists include Martha Wainwright, Aimee Mann and Tom Brosseau)
* Selected as one of the top 5 unknown artists by Kim Ruehl on the No Depression website
* Two live interview/performances on Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight in 2009
* Live interview/performance on Tish Pearlman's Out of Bounds in January, 2009
* Opened for Maura Kennedy at the Words and Music Songwriter Showcase hosted by Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers in April, 2009
* Received Honorable Mention in the 2009 Telluride Troubador Contest (affiliated with the Telluride Bluegrass Festival)
* Semi-Finalist (top 18 out of 700) at the 2008 Williamsburg Live Songwriting Competition
* In fall 2007 my Hank Williams-inspired song "You Won My Heart Outright" was in the top 15 finalists being considered for American Songwriter Magazine's Craft of Music Vol.2 Compilation CD
